- Andrew noted that some of the presentations are up and in the website but not linked/live yet
- Research subcommittee – Greg Giaimo, Ohio DOT, Vince Bernardin, Caliper, Jeremy Raw, FHWA, Rob Schiffer, FuturePlan Consulting, Rob Bostrom – focus on Peer Exchange
- 2022 Annual Meeting related activities

- Exec committee working on how transportation severs broader society goals (safety and security, climate changes, public health, and equity,
- Strategic update
- Changed demographic definitions to align with US census; so asking all to update TRB profiles
- Rebekah recommended searching yourself in the TRB system to see if you have multiple email addresses as well.
- Thinking of equity
- External strategic alignment; internal staff reorganization – new deputy director; new director of operations
- Jan 8-12, 2023 is next year’s annual meeting
- Planning and Forecasting events –
- Greg noted that the committees got half as many sessions this year due to restrictions of COVID and the convention center
- Anusha is unsure if this will continue but expects more sessions next year
- Greg asked if we are a joint subcommittee; Rob noted that we are listed in the program as such but neither subcommittee knows if this is the case.

- Transportation Planning Policy and Processes Committee (ADEP10) – work with William Frawley to determine if they are still a parent committee – Rob Bostrom

- Transportation Planning Analysis and Application (AEP15) – Greg Giaimo and Rob Schiffer, cancelled this year
- Parent Committee – Transportation Demand Forecasting (AEP50) – Rob Bostrom
- Long Distance Subcommittee: discussed what is a long distance trip (50 or 100 miles) NYC = 100 but Oregon = 50; International conference in Portugal is still being scheduled, maybe for May
- Krishnan noted that there is not funds identified for a long distance trip survey
- Oregon and Ohio are jointly funding a long distance survey in ActivitySim

- Virtual Peer Exchange for Statewide Models to Develop Research Topics

- think that it will be in June 2022; funding delayed from March; in Columbus; focus on interaction and needs with SWMs and association with federal data sources; States will talk about the FHWA sources that they use and FHWA will provide demos
- List of states/contacts have been identified but can speak up if want to participate

- Sessions for 2023 meeting – coordinate with parent committee
- Related conferences
- PAC was virtual in 2021 and committee is / would like to plan for 2023 conference; Julie Dunbar is no longer a co-chair as she is rotating off and it will just be Hanna.
- ITM will push from 2022 to 2023
- Tools of Trade conference (small and medium sized MPOs) from 2020 is pushed to August 2022 in Boise Idaho
- Rebekah noted that this is a discussion at the section level – her understanding is that TRB has had to layoff staff and not enough staff members at TRB to put on a conference.
- 2022 Census Data for Transportation Planning Conference held June 7-9, 2022 in Reno
